Description:
The person who will assume the position of custodian is accepting a very important role in the functioning of our school. The custodian will perform tasks in maintenance, cleaning, and care of our school while providing a safe and clean environment for our students and staff.
Reporting Relationships:
Reports to: Custodial Manager
Direct Reports: This is a non-supervisory position.
Compensation:
This is an on-call position. The hourly rate is $15-$19 per hour depending on experience.
Essential Functions:
- Ensures all assigned tasks per daily schedule are completed with quality and in an efficient manner which may include the following activities
- Washes walls
- Vacuums carpets
- Clean and polishes windows
- Dusts surfaces as needed
- Light painting as needed
- Light maintenance as needed
- Sweeps, mops, and waxes floors
- Cleans bathrooms and polishes all metal surfaces
- Ensures all paper products dispensers are kept supplied
- Reports any vandalism or broken items immediately to supervisor
- Empties trash in all classroom and offices
- Cleans human fluids as needed per set safety standards
- Cleans showers, auditorium and gymnasiums as assigned
- Sets up and tears down equipment for events as directed
- Assists with grounds keeping and or maintenance as assigned
- Snow removal
- Meets all Essential Job Functions requirements as outlined under custodian and maintenance
- Others duties as assigned.
Additionally:
- Be present and engage in Pinnacle functions and organizations to build strong relationships with students, parents, peers, and the community
- Maintain and deepen current professional learning on an ongoing basis
- Regular and timely attendance
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Strong knowledge of basic custodian functions
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Ability to collaborate and communicate while appreciating the diverse background of students, parents, peers, and the community
- Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator

Working Conditions:
Exposure/Noise Level: Outdoor and indoor school environment with moderate to high noise level and exposure to weather elements
Mental Functions: Analyze, collaborate, communicate, compare, compilation of data, compute, coordinate, copy, evaluate, interpersonal skills, present, report, synthesize
Physical Activities: Outdoor and indoor environment including computer interface. Bend, reach, sit, stand, stoop, talk, walk, and person-to-person interaction with students, parents, peers, and community members.
Weight and Force Demands: Heavy physical activity (lifting, pulling, and pushing up to 50 pounds)
Other: May be required to work outside of normal working hours and travel for work related functions.
