Campus Monitor
Description:
The Campus Monitor will help to foster a positive, safe, secure school environment. By patrolling the campus, monitoring student behavior, enforcing school policies, and reporting unsafe or unhealthy conditions, the monitor will help to promote an optimal environment for education and other school-related activities.
Reporting Relationships:
Reports to: Chief Academic Officer and School Resource Officer
Direct Reports: This is a non-supervisory position.
Compensation:
This is a full-time, 10 month position. The hourly pay rate ranges between $15.00-$22.05 per hour. See a detailed outline of benefits and additional compensation at the bottom of the job description.
Essential Functions:
- Provide high visibility throughout the school during regular school hours, at after school activities, and at events
- Patrol the campus, monitoring hallways, common areas, grounds, parking lot
- Monitor student behavior and diffuse escalated situations
- Provide security at sporting events and other extracurricular activities outside of school hours, including evenings and occasional nights and weekends
- Support with daily school dismissal
- Work with school leaders and administration to discuss/mediate infractions
- Provide regular reports to school leadership
- Encourage collaboration, communication, and respect among students.
- Be present and engage in Pinnacle functions and organizations to build strong relationships with students, parents, peers, and the community.
- Regular and timely attendance

Working Conditions:
Exposure/Noise Level: Occasional exposure to airborne particles, fumes, and outdoor weather conditions. Normal outdoor and indoor school environment with moderate to high noise level.
Mental Functions: Analyze, collaboration, communicate, coordinate, direct, evaluate, interpersonal skills, report.
Physical Activities: Outdoor and indoor environments. Bend, reach, sit, frequent standing, stoop, talk, frequent walking, and heavy person-to-person interaction with students and peers.
Weight and Force Demands: Moderate physical activity (lifting, pulling, and pushing up to 25 pounds).
Note: In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, during the 2021-2022 school year, school staff are critical employees and are expected to perform work on campus as required.
