Elementary SPED Paraprofessional (1:1 Support)

 

The Elementary School SPED Paraprofessional will provide assistance with day-to-day classroom routines and procedures under the guidance of a licensed teacher and/or Special Education Teacher. This position works in large and small group settings to support student mastery in all areas of academic content while providing students with a positive learning environment. This position may work directly with a student or students whose programming includes 1:1 academic and behavioral support. This is a student-dependent position. Employment is contingent upon the enrollment and continued need of student(s) requiring 1:1 support and may end at any time if student(s) enrollment, funding, or programmatic needs change.

 

Reporting Relationships:

Reports to: Elementary Principal, Elementary Assistant Principal(s).

Direct Reports: This is a non-supervisory position.

Compensation:

This is a full-time, 10-month position.  Hourly pay ranges between $19.08 - $25.76 per hour, depending on experience. Working Conditions:

Exposure/Noise Level: Occasional exposure to airborne particles, fumes, and outdoor weather conditions.  Normal school environment with moderate to high noise level.

Mental Functions: Analyze, collaboration, communicate, compare, compilation of data, compute, coordinate, copy, direct, evaluate, instruct, interpersonal skills, present, report, synthesize.

Physical Activities: Office environment including computer interface. Bend, reach, sit, stand, stoop, talk, walk, and heavy person-to-person interaction with students, parents, peers, and community members.

Weight and Force Demands: Moderate physical activity (lifting, pulling, and pushing up to 25 pounds).

Other: May be required to work outside of normal working hours and travel for work related functions.
